LaserCraze in Westborough has been helping Paton raise money at our Annual Pancake Breakfast since they first opened three years ago with donations for free passes to both Laser Tag and the Adrenaline Zone. So we were thrilled this year when they said they wanted to do even more.
This year Laser Craze has donated two different experiences: A Deluxe Birthday party for 8 valued at $309 and; an Exclusive Laser Tag Game for up 38 people. We’re calling it the “Hatfield vs. the McCoys” because it allows you to build your own laser tag dream team. You decide – Kids v. Parents, Neighbor v. Neighbor, Friend v. Friend, or what ever rivalry is keeping you up at night. This amazing experience also includes pizza, drinks, adrenaline zone wrist bands and arcade cards for student participants. The prize is valued at over $950.
Dan Hornbeck, Manger at the Westborough location, was inspired by other local school’s who’ve had success with similar packages and wanted to make this one really special. “We are thrilled to be able to offer the Paton School this unique experience and hope that it adds significantly to your fundraising efforts, helping you exceed your goals”
Located in nearby West Boylston, Ultimate Obstacles is New England’s largest indoor training facility dedicated entirely to Ninja Warrior and obstacle race training. Their 12,000 square foot space features two separate obstacle course areas, one for adults and one for kids, and an area dedicated for training.
Celebrating a year of operations in March of this year, the Ultimate Obstacles team enthusiastically responded to the Paton PTO’s request to help sponsor the prizes for our annual Book Blizzard. Top readers in each grade level received a pass for a two-hour session for themselves and up to 9 friends, compliments of Ultimate Obstacles. Winners were announced at Paton Pride on March 24th:
- K/1 – Naryaa Ravi
- 2 – Suhrit Ghosh
- 3 – Alice Young
- 4 – Drew Manzi
Thank you again to Ultimate Obstacles for your support!
Thank you to everyone – both players and spectators – for coming out to support our 1st Annual Paton Parent & Staff Kickball tournament! We were excited to see so much enthusiasm from everyone and we really appreciate all the feedback on how we can make it even better next year. We are thrilled to be adding a new annual event to our community that brings so many people together for such a good cause.
This year we raised over $1000 towards our annual fundraising goal. In addition to thanking the players for their contribution, we’d like to thank your community partners that helped stock our concessions stand – The Bean Counter, Wegmans and Roche Brothers. Polar Beverages also supplied 8 cases of water to help keep our players hydrated.
So, do you have an idea for another great new event or fundraiser? Come to our meeting in April to share it with the community. Our kickball tournament was a suggestion that came up in our fall meeting and took off quickly. Your idea could be our next big thing!
Oak Middle School’s gymnasium will be home to Paton PTO’s inaugural Parent/Staff Kickball Tournament on Saturday, March 18th. Parents will take to the ‘field’ to play a classic kickball game against other Paton parents as well as some of our favorite Paton teachers and staff. On the line; bragging rights for the next year (or more) and your winning team name on our new school trophy.
Not playing? Come and cheer on our players!! This is a free event for spectators, but we encourage you to bring a little spending money! We’ll have bake-goods and snacks for you to purchase to enjoy in-between matches to help raise money for the PTO. You will also have a chance to purchase a raffle ticket (or two!) for our 50/50 raffle also to benefit the school.
We are pleased to thank the following members of our business community for supporting our event:
Thank you to all the families who came out for the Scholastic Book Fair & Ice Cream Social. We had another amazing Book Fair – over $10,000 in books were sold! And our Ice Cream Social raised another $850+ towards our fundraising goals for the year.
Thank you to the many volunteers who made the Book Fair and Ice Cream Social run so smoothly. Thank you also to our community partners for their generous donations:
The Scholastic Book Fair benefits Paton in many ways above and beyond the monthly Scholastic flyers that are sent home from your child’s classroom teacher. There are added benefits for you too — including an expanded book selections and the ability to donate books directly to your students classroom.
Check out your red-folders starting next Monday, October 24th for more details.
