Open House & Informational Session

On Wednesday, August 21, Paton School will have an Open House and a “New to Paton” information session.

The self-guided Open House begins at 4:00 p.m. and is a great opportunity for children to see their classrooms and acclimate to Paton before the first day.

At 6:00 p.m., parents are invited to attend a “New to Paton” informational session where Wendy Bell, Paton Principal, will cover general school culture, routines, and expectations for students and families. (Please note, this portion of the evening is intended for parents only).

First Day(s) of School

Help us welcome students and families to Paton! Volunteers are needed for the first day of school for Grades 1-4 and for Kindergarten. We also need lunchroom volunteers on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Please see the sign up for more information on the First Day(s) of School volunteer opportunities.

Reminder: You must have a valid CORI form on file to volunteer. CORI forms can be obtained online or at the Central Office in Town Hall before the beginning of the school year.

Spring = Pancake Breakfast Time!!

One of Paton’s longest standing traditions is our Annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser.  This year families will gather on Saturday, April 6th to share a morning of pancakes, raffles & fun before the real crush of spring sports and other activities make taking time-out like this near impossible.

Whether this is your first time attending or your 4th (or even more!), we promise you’ll enjoy a great morning with your fellow Paton community members. We are grateful for the strong community support we’ve received again this year from our local restaurants, museums, entertainment and service providers and more to help provide items for our raffles and silent auction.  Please check out the full list of our contributors, a silent auction brochure and bid form here.

Finally, our class raffle baskets are a team effort of all our parents.  The kids really take pride in what their class puts together.  We thank you for the donations you’ve made and we deeply appreciate our room parents for helping put together the final products.

We look forward to seeing you on the 6th!

Book Blizzard Enters Week Two

This year’s book blizzard is on track to be our best year yet! Our on-line pledge app has helped us increase pledges and our students are busy reading to make those pledges a reality. Also new in 2019 – in addition to awarding top readers/top classroom prizes this year, we have also launched what we hope will be a new annual – the best video book report.

Want to participate? Just take a short video, no more than 30s in length, featuring your student talking about a book they read during Book Blizzard. It should include what they like about the book and why they would recommend reading it to their fellow students.  Send your video to walterjpatonpto@gmail.com

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like…

It’s hard to believe it but with Thanksgiving next week, we are all turning our minds to the holiday season ahead. A few things to think about…

–>>Paton Store Open – November 13th-November 30th

Want to wrap-up a Paton sweatshirt or t-shirt for the holiday?  We’ve re-opened the Paton store for a limited time. Orders must be in by 11/30/2018 to guarantee delivery before winter break. Order online here.

Alternatively, you may order using our paper-form by stopping in the main office. Please note:  If your item is a gift and you’d like it held in the office for pick-up rather sent home with your student, please note so on the form.

–>>United Scripts – November 13th-December 10th

If gift cards are on your list this season, why not get them from Paton PTO? United Scripts is one more way you can help Paton PTO raise funds by doing something you already do!  For each card you purchase, the PTO earns a profit ranging from 2-20%.  Look for more details in your red-folder soon or go to www.ScripZone.com to learn more.  Just select “Online Ordering for Families” and enter our group code “PatonPTO

–>>Paton PTO 2018 Cookie Swap Extravaganza!! – December 7th

Our annual Cookie Swap is a wonderful way to show the teachers and staff that they’re thought of and appreciated during this hectic time of year!  The PTO is looking for volunteers to bake three or four dozen of their family’s favorite cookies/treats.  During their lunch break on Friday, December 7th, teachers and staff will choose from the delicious assortment and fill a pastry box to take home. Click here to sign up today!

Please join us at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday the 18th and find out what we do to support the students and staff of Paton, and how you can help out with the PTO with all our various events throughout the year.
